Campaign of the Month: November 2014
Shadowrun - The Rat's Nest
disgraced ninja for hire
Of Korean and Japanese descent, Masayuki grew up on the streets with his brother Akio after his mother died. His father had been out of the picture for years and neither Haneda nor his brother know much about him.
The Yakuza, or at least the Shigeda-gumi following the New Way, offered a chance and Masayuki took it. Akio did not and they lost contact after that, not on good terms. Masayuki has survived for decades in the Yakuza, even the purge of many Koreans in the ranks. The Shigeda-gumi may be tolerant but that does not mean everyone likes it or the people accepted into their ranks and Masayuki is very much used to racism and even intrigue against him. But so far, the good has always outweighed the bad.
Masayuki leads a mission to recapture a sleeper assassin. It goes very wrong and he, along with two of his people, decide to not return to the Yakuza. They suspect they have been set up to fail and are not willing to pay the price for that.
The first job the do on their own works out pretty well for them and they get their hands on some much-needed cash. They rent an apartment in Renton and continue to lay as low as possible.
